The Team

The Core Models team owns time series algorithms that power features across the Datadog application. We are responsible for the implementation and performance of the algorithms, as well as the internal tooling to evaluate and iterate on them. Our models power features such as Watchdog Alerts and Log Anomaly Detection. 

As the Engineering Manager of the Core Models team, you will lead and grow a team of Data Scientists and Software Engineers that own the implementation and development of our core time series models. These models are at the heart of Data Science efforts and are driving an increasing number of use cases.

What you'll do: 

• Lead, mentor and coach an amazing team of data scientists and software engineers. 
• Design technical solutions with your team to improve existing product or build new features
• Be responsible for scalability of our data science features as Datadog adds more customers and ingests more data per customer.
• Work closely with product manager to execute the product vision following to product requirements and priorities 
• Ensure the development and continuous improvement of a scalable and reliable architecture that can keep up with the growth of the product in a sustainable manner.

Who you are: 

• You have 1+ years experience managing software engineers or data scientists.
• You have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, ML engineer or data scientist designing and building data driven features 
• You have experience working with both data scientist and software engineers in cross-functional teams 
• You have experience in working and communicating effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, distributed organization.
• You have partnered with product management 
• You value simplicity and getting the right things done.

 Nice to Haves: 

• You have experience working with microservices and/or distributed systems.
• You have experience working with time series data.
• You have experience working in Python, Java, Scala or Go.
• You have experience working on big data / analytical systems.
