Job Description

As a Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer, you will bring your expertise in DevOps engineering to our innovative projects and continuously evolving concepts. While we are primarily looking for a DevOps Engineer, we expect you to have a baseline knowledge and willingness to expand into other areas such as Backend, Frontend, and Data/ML Engineering. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technology, stay on top of trends, and drive projects with an ever-increasing degree of independence. Responsibilities:

• Innovate beyond our existing products and bring new ideas to life for Celonis.
• Work as part of our engineering team to implement projects with a focus on infrastructure and deployment.
• Improve and maintain our team's cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP.
• Identify and deploy services required for our projects.
• Own our CI/CD pipelines and ensure that our code is deployed.
• Implement observability and monitoring for operations, with very rare occurrences of out-of-hours work.
• Set standards for DevOps and coach other engineers in the team.
• Participate in adjacent areas of software engineering, such as backend development.
• Participate in testing our work with selected customers to gather feedback.

The qualifications you need:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering) or a comparable education.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in DevOps or similar roles.
• Experience in leading DevOps efforts in an engineering team.
• Expertise in cloud-native technologies and proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and related projects (e.g., Istio, Prometheus, etc.).
• Experience specifically with GCP and AWS, and deploying and managing infrastructure with a GitOps/IaC approach.
• Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Github Actions, for operations (GitOps/IaC) and application development.
• Experience in observability, monitoring, and analytics tooling.
• Proficiency in an established scripting language (Python, Perl, Bash, etc.).
• Deep understanding of operating systems, container technologies, networking, and databases.
• Ability to learn new things quickly without tight supervision.
• Ability to understand business problems and the needs of our users.
