Job Description
As a Software Engineering manager for one of our Next gen products, you will bring the power of large-scale, data science-driven capabilities to our retailers in an intuitive, easy-to-use web application experience. In order to successfully create world-class pricing products you will need to bring rock-solid front-end skills, micro-service architecture experience and a passion for leading high-performing Agile developer teams.
What you will do
- Collaborate effectively with Design, Frontend, Data Platform, Data Science and QA teams to build the next generation of products
- Create an engineering culture with an exceedingly high bar for quality, ownership, and bias for action
- Enable, unblock and guide experienced developers to develop high quality software within a metrics-driven Agile practice
- Lead and drive the development of complex web and cloud native applications while ensuring automated development through release
- Inspire your teams to bring a passion for high-quality product and services and for writing clean, solid, readable code that scales and performs well
- Collaborate with Product to define and drive your team’s technology vision and roadmap that aligns with our customer’s needs
- Support, coach, and mentor engineers and provide feedback on software architecture designs and implementations of new products and features
- Participate in and promote architectural initiatives
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a software developer with a clear history of technical excellence, depth and leadership
- At least 1+ years of experience in managing software development with a strong track record of on-time delivery for large, cross-functional projects
- Experience with hiring, attracting, motivating, coaching, retaining and developing engineers and their leaders.
- Experience with scalable API development and REST services
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), GCP experience preferred (BigQuery, DataProc, Composer, Cloud Functions, Dataflow / Apache Beam, Pub/Sub)
- Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following, or another similar language: C#, Node.js (NestJS Framework, Typescript)
- Exposure to different non-relational (MongoDB or similar) and/or relational technologies (SQL)
- Experience in containerization and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Experience enabling CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab, or others
- Excellent communication, adaptability and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
