Job Description

As part of the Data Science department at DMG, we are seeking a Data Science Intern who is passionate about the data and thrives in a fast-paced environment to have a positive impact on the DMG business and the society. The Data Science department develops tools, technologies, models to solve business problems and provide actionable insights by leveraging the large, complex datasets and domain expertise. The Data Science department works in close coordination with other cross-functional business departments such as Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Product and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Data Science Intern will support the broader Data & Analytics organization and is responsible for establishing, operationalizing, and sustaining a program that defines, manages, researches, and publishes data science methods, techniques, and methodologies including the business cases. Some responsibilities include:

• Data wrangling and data tagging
• Data enrichment, conversion, aggregation for supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
• Documentation (architecture, algorithm, results, business cases)
• Data analysis on a wide range of data
• Work with cross-functional (or internal teams) to gather, capture, and document information.
• Work closely with business and DMG analysts to understand data and business process.

Education & Experience:

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, computer science, business intelligence or business administration, with 1-2 years completed.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, and data analysis/visualization tools.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to effectively present to internal audiences.
• Proficiency with PC applications for data analysis. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently and take initiative on assigned projects.
