Responsibilities include: 

  • Working within the scrum team, design and implement new features and services as prioritised by the Product Owner.

  • Guide the team in technical decisions

  • This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to make an active contribution to development

  • Maintain a high level of quality in your output and test your own work before passing to QA for verification.

  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging technologies relevant to the role

  • Communicate and escalate issues in a clear and timely manner

Required Education and Skills 

  • BS in computer science or related STEM field

  • 10+ years of experience in Software development of complex applications.

  • Proven track record designing and implementing performant, resilient and scalable SaaS applications following microservice architecture in real world scenarios

  • Extensive Java development experience using a variety of frameworks and third party dependencies such as Spring Boot

  • Experience with Cloud platform technologies and infrastructure: Azure and/or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, etc.

  • Familiarity with build pipeline tools and technologies such as: Jenkins, Gitlab, Gradle

  • Experience writing unit tests

  • Working in an Agile development environment and actively contributing to Sprint planning and other ceremonies

  • Must be self-motivated but needs to work well in a team environment

  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and 7 years of related experience or through 11 years of software development experience. Completion of a master’s in computer science or similar discipline is preferred

Desired Skills 

  • MS, PhD in computer science or related STEM field

  • Any fluency in additional programming languages and fameworks such as Python, C#, C++ would be an advantage.

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure Docker containers, Kubernetes, DataBricks

  • Data modeling and database design experience

  • Knowledge of Machine Learning frameworks and packages

  • Any UI experience such as Angular, React, protobuf, grpc, ASP.NET

  • Strong preference for prior experience building petrotechnical and real-time acquisition software in the O&G industry
