About the role: 

We are looking for a deeply experienced Head of Japan Partnerships, Sales, and Marketing who can build strong, strategic partnerships with Japanese companies and organizations as well as manage and grow our business development and sales team in Japan. You will identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with various industries while adapting quickly to our fast-changing technology and products. This role contains aspects of partnership-building sales, and marketing, but partnerships are the most important currently.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prospect, and prioritize potential partners/clients through research, networking, and other lead generation methods
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders at partner organizations including large cloud vendors, system integrators, IT consulting firms, and app developers
  • Co-create solutions with partners based on our AI models and scale sales via channel partners
  • Hire, mentor, and guide our business professionals based in Tokyo as a people manager
  • Understand and communicate the unique value proposition of our technology to organizations
  • Work with our engineers to deliver projects to partners/clients
  • Contribute to both goals: awareness/branding and revenue generation

Qualifications: 

  • 15+ years of experience in partnership-building and sales roles, preferably at tech companies
  • 8+ years of experience in managing and growing teams
  • Strong existing professional network in Japan, including executives at large enterprises potentially interested in generative AI
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business strategies
  • Experience as the Japan country manager of a foreign company is a plus
  • Strong technical knowledge (machine learning, cloud solutions, etc.) is a plus
  • Good communication skills with fluency in Japanese and business-level English proficiency
