Empower our Machine Learning team to build the future of science

Become a member of our data leadership team and shape our technical strategy in accordance with business needs to continuously improve how we connect scientists with relevant research and with other actors of the science ecosystem. Enable our Machine Learning team to own, drive, and innovate on the core models and ML platforms that power ResearchGate. These technologies allow us to leverage a research graph (petabyte scale) of 25mln+ users, 160+ million publications, 2+ billion citations and more to improve scientists’ productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Motivate, develop and enable a team 4-6 data scientists and data engineers to tackle difficult Machine Learning challenges around modeling, scale, availability and quality 
• Collaboratively define, communicate and execute a technical strategy that focuses your team efforts on the most impactful work in harmony with company goals
• Act as a technical product owner, continuously gathering and prioritizing internal needs in alignment with our company strategy
• Take responsibility for hiring and onboarding new colleagues
• Create a high performance and positive work environment based on transparency, accountability, and trust
• Evangelize the organization to drive ML-based innovation

Your Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data science or ML engineering role
• 3+ years of experience as a people manager
• Strong proficiency with Python and SQL
• Strong understanding of the Machine Learning lifecycle and/or experience in designing data-intensive ML products
• Experience with Cloud technologies (GCP is a plus)
• Excellent communication and prioritization skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into ML models
