RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manager II, Data Engineering will report directly to the Chief Data Officer and will manage the functions and teams that make up Data Architecture & Engineering and Data Science & Analytics within the data supply chain. The incumbent will join forces with the other CDO leaders (Data Management, Data Operations and Digital Data Services and Data Program Management) to build, operationalize and improve the data supply chain. 

  • Accountable for delivery of business unit and IFS data that will be made available through the Kroll Connected Ecosystem. 
  • Lead data architectural & engineering activities linked to strategic design and delivery of data for downstream internal and external product consumption.
  • Develop data ingestion methodologies, build data pipelines, create ELT flows, design data models with appropriate mappings and data normalization.
  • Alignment of Analytics operating model to support scale and growth of the analytics program at Kroll across visualization and data sciences. 
  • Leads data visualizations and supports the creation and delivery of Business intelligence that is built on managed data.
  • Leverages scientific methods, processes, algorithms, and systems to discover business insights from structured and unstructured data. 
  • Translates data into usable information. Raw data is gathered and converted into more readable formats (graphs, documents, etc.), providing the form and context necessary to be interpreted and utilized throughout the organization.
  • Ensure Data Solutions meet the goals and objectives of all our Business Units. 
  • Develop and track KPIs and metrics to ensure business benefits and operational efficiency gains are achieved within critical data programs. 
  • Manage vendor relationships with those companies that are providing software, technology solutions or services. 
  • Align Data delivery resources & location with business plans. Location Strategies, leveraging horizontal areas/COEs. Optimize the resource model, administer hires, track on/off boarding, and evaluate contract and resource strategies. Training.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 7 years of overall experience, with hands-on experience in Enterprise Data and Services operational groups.
  • Strong and seasoned people leader.
  • Experience developing and implementing processes, procedures, and controls to improve user satisfaction and loyalty, as well as drive operational efficiencies.
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated experience in managing teams across functions and geographies.
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment and at ease with change and transformation.
  • As a key member of the CDO management team, provide strong leadership and support and encourage the company's values.
  • Lead multiple teams of data & analytical engineers that build, manage, and support enterprise data and analytics technology infrastructure, tools, and products.
  • Inform and influence the overall Data & Analytics technology vision and drive the delivery and execution of the vision.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Business product owners, data engineers, data scientists, and analysts to understand product needs and delivery expectations.
  • Guide the adoption of new products, platforms, and data assets to improve data informed operations across the organization.
  • Build, mentor and grow data engineering and analytics team that deliver performance solutions that drive customer value and business outcomes.
  • Establish a product mindset and cross functional team structure to support the strategy and fast paced delivery of quality solutions.
  • Understand the cloud ecosystem, markets, competition, and user requirements in-depth. Help facilitate to Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly.
  • Building scalable functions, fault tolerant batch & real time data pipelines to validate/extract/transform/integrate large scale datasets inclusive of location and time series data, across multiple platforms.
  • Optimize and expand Kroll’s data platform, which will span across multiple cloud providers and services, data warehouses, and applications.
  • Experience in setting up enterprise level data lake using any Big Data platform like Hadoop, Azure Data Lake and Databricks
  • Should be able to understand and guide the teams in implementation of Data Lake and ELT concepts in Cloud using ADB, ADF, Python, PySpark and etc.
  • Expertise with Azure in the Data lifecycle & AI domain like Data Migration, Data Transformation, Data Modernization, Azure ML, etc.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture, data security and modern processing techniques using data pipelines
  • Ability to discover, analyze, and find data patterns and turn them into products
  • Understanding and experience with key platform technologies including APIs & Management, Platform Services, Streaming Systems, Stream Processing, and Persistent Storage for Analytics and Applications
  • Practical experience deploying applications and implementing continuous-integration tools and patterns.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $200,000.
