Who We Are

At Gretel, we’re building a generative AI platform for synthetic data. Gretel’s APIs automatically fine-tune AI models to generate synthetic data on demand while protecting privacy and maintaining the utility and accuracy of the original data. Our synthetic data platform solves the data bottleneck problem for developers, data scientists, and AI/ML researchers across multiple modalities including tabular, time-series, relational, language and image. We're looking for talented customer-focused Software Engineer to join our mission!

The Impact You’ll Have

This customer-facing Software Engineer will be an integral part of our backend engineering team and will be responsible for the support of the pre-sales, post-sales, integration & implementation process by providing technical knowledge to internal and external customers. They will develop and implement integration solutions coordinating applications across the customer’s enterprise. They will also evaluate existing components or systems to determine integration requirements and to ensure final solutions meet organizational needs and be directly responsible for the diagnosis, configuration, deployment and support of Gretel during all steps of the sales and implementation cycles.

Responsibilities

• Be a contributor of code, tests, and application/data/systems architecture on a small team of engineers working across the stack
• Own both customer and developer happiness for your products in production, working with your own and other teams to build operational transparency and resiliency into every layer of deployed applications
• Coordinate with engineering and product leads to define, prioritize, and task projects that help us meet business objectives
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, pairing opportunities, and code reviews to encourage the growth of others

Basic Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Math, or an algorithmic-centric discipline
• At least 5 years of professional experience in software development
• At least 3 years of experience with scalable, API based agent or service oriented software architecture
• Experience with agile development methodologies for continuous development of product and technology
• Experience leading the delivery of large-scale distributed systems
• Strong communication skills - you will be working directly with customers, so we’re extra mindful about verbal and written communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building applications with Python and/or Go
• Experience building cloud-scale applications in AWS and/or GCP
• Experience building containerized applications with Docker/Kubernetes
• Data engineering experience
• Experience working remotely in a distributed company

Compensation

Employee compensation will be determined based on interview performance, level of experience, specialization of skills, and market rate. During the offer discussion, your recruiter will review the finalized base salary, bonus (for applicable roles), benefits and perks (additional information available on our career site), and stock options as they’ll be reflected in the offer letter.

Employees hired in the U.S. and Canada can expect the below information to reflect a reasonable estimate of the salary offered for this role. Salary ranges are updated regularly using premium market data. (Please note: it is unusual for new hires to receive a base salary at the top of the range. Additionally, the value of Gretel.ai’s stock options is not included in the salary bands and may represent a significant portion of your compensation.)

• Senior Software Engineer, $170,000-$200,000 USD
• Staff Software Engineer $190,000-$220,000 USD
• Principal Software Engineer $210,000-$240,000 USD
