The Interim Lead Data Scientist, Marketing role combines data-driven storytelling and deep data science techniques to drive our marketing growth engine. The Marketing Data Scientist will work directly across the marketing team and senior marketing management to drive the right programs, the right investments and ensure business growth.

You will drive analytical decisions for marketing. This includes campaign measurement, optimization and process optimization. The role would also develop advanced analytics solutions for measuring efficiency and Return on investment for all channels and creating a budget optimization framework. You would also provide expertise on designing A/B tests and evaluating across all marketing channels and be a thought-partner to analysts and marketers.

This role is cross-functional, partnering with Growth Marketing, Community, PMM, Product, Business Development, Analytics, and the rest of the GTM Team.

What you'll do:

  • Marketing Performance Analytics: Analyze channel interactions and other key indicators to determine the right mix of Marketing investments (e.g., campaign ROI analysis)
  • Analyze funnel performance, identifying optimization opportunities, and working with go-to-market teams to implement and ensure a seamless transition between marketing and sales touch points across the funnel.
  • Develop at-scale solutions for measurement, digital audience targeting, hypothesis testing, and optimization using current research, machine learning algorithms, statistical and econometric modeling
  • Provide insights to marketing and finance teams, designing and evaluating experiments to move recommendations forward based on company goals
  • Work cross-functionally with GTM teams to track and optimize data quality, including database hygiene and deliverability across the marketing tech stack
  • Build scalable data sources and data products that act as sources of truth and can be leveraged by multiple teams.
  • Provide data modeling expertise to all data science teams through code reviews and pairing to increase efficiency of the data science team.

Who are you?

  • Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields. (If Ph.D, or M.S. degree, a minimum of 5+ years of industry experience required and if Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 8+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of experience in data science and machine learning, time-series data, multivariate analysis and causal inference.
  • 5+ years of experience in statistical experimentation methods, such as A/B testing, experimental design, power analysis and non-parametric statistics.
  • Deep experience in B2B marketing channel, campaign and funnel performance tracking, analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in SQL, statistical modeling platforms (Python, R), data modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data science techniques.
  • Experience managing analytics projects from creation to delivery, including developing structured solutions.
  • You are an extraordinary communicator and project manager. You have the ability to prioritize projects and clearly communicate timelines to your team and stakeholders.

Compensation Range: $89 - $120 per hour with the expectation of 40 hours per week

The compensation range represents the minimum and maximum of the range for this position based at our San Francisco headquarters. The actual compensation offered for this position will depend on numerous factors, including individual proficiency, anticipated performance, and the location of the selected candidate.
