SPA have an immediate requirement for a Data Scientist.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an enabling data science capability at HQ SACT and the NATO Enterprise;
  • Support execution and implementation of identified analytic opportunities for data analytics, data science, and AI within HQ SACT;
  • Contribute to development of advanced Data Science products in form of Minimum Viable Products (MVP), in particular in support of the ACT Innovation Branch;
  • Provide subject matter expertise to military and civilian staff, support ORS and CPP development, and develop proofs of concept;
  • Collaborate with international civilian and military staff officers, data scientists, and software development teams;
  • Support training and training development to increase data literacy.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active National and/or NATO Secret security clearance
  • Must be a citizen of a NATO Member nation
  • University degree in a field related to Data Science such as Data Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline; OR 4 years minimum professional experience in the area of Data Science, including providing analysis and advice in the field of data science within the last 7 years
  • Minimum 5 years experience with data science best practices, particularly applied mathematics and/or programming (e.g., Python or R)
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with teams embracing Agile DevSecOps principles, including CI/CD
  • Minimum 5 years experience with Machine Learning techniques, especially on large scale datasets
  • Minimum 3 years experience visualizing data and producing high-quality graphs and charts
  • Minimum 3 years experience with data science public cloud offerings
  • Minimum 3 years experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
  • Minimum 3 years experience with SQL, SQL Tuning, OLAP, Big Data Technologies
  • Portfolio of demonstrable products available online or/else open source contributions available online via GitLab, or similar platforms
  • Fluent in English (written and oral)
