SPA assists the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing leading edge technologies to counter WMD in support of CCMDs and transitioning these technologies to services and SOCOM. SPA provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counter Improvised Threat and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations.
Systems Planning and Analysis has an immediate need for a Software Product Management Analyst.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will (1) serve as a technical/scientific resource on projects, analyzing problems and provide recommendations, technical support, and adviceto the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Research and Development (RD) Directorate, Nuclear Technologies (NT) Department, Nuclear Detection Division and (2) conduct technical assessments, program and portfolio analysis, provide technical advisory support, and other advisory functions to support the planning, preparation, definition, and execution of S&T programs.
Works with and provides input to Program Managers (PM) to provide software program/product management oversight, particularly of several inter-operable software programs. Supports PM’s in decisions about software goals, dependencies, architectures, trade-offs, new features, and various other aspects of software products. Works with various stakeholders (e.g., users, sponsors, technology contributors, and developers) to determine product risks, opportunities, and program plans. Gathers feedback from stakeholder groups. Developing product roadmaps that integrate inputs across the stakeholder community. Act as the liaison to the software development community to ensure technical hurdles can be represented to non-developers and that program management factors can be communicated to developers.
