The Net Technical Assessment Group (NTAG) within SPA specializes in the application of interdisciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). One of those clients is the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). SPA provides OUSD(R&E) decision support to restore technical overmatch of the U.S. Armed Forces. SPA personnel are deeply integrated into every aspect of the OUSD(R&E) and provide critical support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain technological superiority in the future.

Responsibilities

The candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team of analysts and software developers on the agile design and development of software products to support a variety of clients within OUSD(R&E). This work may include developing and designing web-based applications for deployment on client SharePoint sites, maintenance of SPA proprietary Modeling and Simulation (M&S) tools, or development of novel analytical tools using Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. The candidate will facilitate engagements with clients, program managers, technical leads, and the development team to produce high visibility software solutions for both external customers and internal stakeholders. This role may require briefing and training of products and deliverables to both technical and non-technical audiences. Qualifications

Required

• 6 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, Data Science, or other related field
• Experience with programming languages/environments such as SharePoint, Office 365, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, Python, C#, .NET, Java, SQL, and VBA with familiarity with UI/UX principles
• Experience leading and managing a team of software developers in support of multiple concurrent projects
• Experience engaging clients and stakeholders to present and discuss software needs, vision, requirements, and proposed technical solutions
• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance

Desired

• Master’s degree in Information Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or other related field
• SAFe certification
• Experience with monitoring, maintaining, and producing analysis from broad data sets (structured and unstructured)
