Expert data scientist for Thales Alenia Space Italy.

Today, we are living a real revolution in the Space business which is becoming more and more data driven. AI is one way to maximize the benefits offered by Space data, which needs to be interpreted and translated into actionable business insights and allow system automation.

This will improve, among others, the predictive capabilities thus leading to more reliable and highly available Space systems.

Mission

As member of the Digital Competence Center (DCC) in Italy, you will join an international team composed of skilled data scientist and data architects. Your mission will be to:

• Liaise with Italian entities to Capture / define TAS Space Business use cases for AI: pose the right key questions about data and support the teams in finding the answers
• Identify AI technological gaps/needs/resources to fulfil these use cases (maturity assessment)
• Define the AI technological roadmap and strategy in coordination with the Thales Alenia Space Join Venture (TAS JV) AI roadmap and strategy
• Build a cartography of AI actions: internal data scientists skills monitoring & improvement, self-funded activities, collaborations with scientific research (labs), projects (EU, ESA, ASI, etc.), etc.
• Participate to build a strong link between TAS JV and TAS in Italy R&D and innovation on AI: shared projects, mixed international teams, shared scientific partnerships
• Provide technical support to Domains in answering to bids where AI is applicable
• Integrate AI in TAS solutions and deploy relevant technologies in projects
• Animate TAS in Italy AI network/community

Skills:

• Good expertise in AI and data technologies with over 5 years of experience as data scientist. Relevant AI perimeter: learning (Machine/Deep/reinforcement), high combinatorial problematics (Operational Research) in addition to general data sciences and mathematics skills.
• Expertise in AI strategy definition and AI business use cases
• Participation to scientific networks in AI at italian and international level
• Soft skills: strategic vision, good teamworking capability, management of technical teams, communicative and networking attitude, cultural openness
• Excellent english level. French language will be appreciated
• Software skills in implementing AI in products will be appreciated.

Profile:

• Master degree. A PHD in AI will be appreciated
• AI Expert with more than 5 years of strategy and business experience
• Knowledge of the main Data Processing Frameworks and algorithms
