We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2023. Internships at TikTok aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Watch your ambitions become reality as your inspiration brings infinite opportunities at TikTok.

Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following internship cycles below: -

• Summer Internship - 08 May 2023 to 28 July 2023 (12 weeks)
• Off-cycle Internship - Starting 09 January 2023 or 14 August 2023

We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit in either internship period. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

About the Team

The team focuses on fundamental research and application research on Artificial Intelligence (AI), which include deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, etc. The role of a research scientist is to design novel models and propose new general-purpose algorithms that help machines perceive, think, and act in the world. The ideal candidate should have an enthusiasm for advancing the understanding of intelligence and a passion for ambitious breakthroughs in AI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve current data loading and processing pipelines on a very large scale (e.g. On PBs scale).
• Work along with researchers and engineers to help improve current generative modeling pipelines.
• Be self-motivated to come up with new solutions that can improve modeling outputs, training pipelines and datasets.
• Be responsible for maintaining and improving codebases. Attend research & paper reading groups for ideas brainstorming.

Qualifications

• Have strong programming skills
• Strong background in computer vision, including experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
• Experience with image and video processing techniques and libraries
• Experience with computer vision modeling and training
• Experience in processing large-scale datasets, including images, videos or texts
• Experience in building large-scale distributed machine learning systems will be a plus
• Being very self-motivated and driven to learn & try new things (e.g. open sourced github repos), especially in AIGC
