About the Vision Technology team

The Vision Technology team works on the advance state of the art in technical areas that are important to the firm's current and future business. We are directly responsible for critical products and services and participate in finding solutions to the challenges we face as an enterprise. With world-leading researchers on our side, we also aim to become an educational hub for the brightest students and help them achieve their potential. We take pride in being an active part of the academic community through publishing papers, giving talks and attending conferences.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2023. Internships at TikTok aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Watch your ambitions become reality as your inspiration brings infinite opportunities at TikTok.

Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following internship cycles below: -

• Summer Internship - 08 May 2023 to 28 July 2023 (12 weeks)
• Off-cycle Internship - Starting 09 January 2023 or 14 August 2023

We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit in either internship period. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. The application limit is firm and includes all TikTok and its affiliates' jobs globally. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and we encourage you to apply early.

Responsibilities

• Develop software systems providing computer vision service
• Optimize the performance of the model inference with better usage of different resources like CPU, GPU, DSP, etc.
• Develop the inference engine for deep learning model

Qualifications

• Postgraduate who is currently pursuing a Degree/Master/Phd degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Solid knowledge of data structure and strong coding skills
• Experience in C++ development under Linux environment
• Familiar with at least one area of the computer vision including but not limited to:
  • Image/video search
  • Image/video classification/understanding
  • Object detection, segmentation, and tracking
  • Scene understanding
  • Facial analysis
  • Pose and gesture
  • 3D vision
• Familiar with at least one area of the model inference acceleration including but not limited to Quantization, Pruning, Distillation, etc.
• Familiar with at least one of the deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow / PyTorch / MXNet

Preferred Qualifications

• Authors of published papers in top academia conferences at CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, etc.
• Winners of algorithm and machine learning competitions such as ACM-ICPC, NOI/IOI, Top Coder and Kaggle
• Knowledge of AutoML and hand-on experience of NAS
• Experience in big data processing
