About the Role

We are looking for a Sr Staff Engineer who has past experience of developing AI/ML technology to drive automation and efficiency for business. The role expects the person to architect and scale AI/ML application at scale leveraging human in the loop keeping machine first. The challenges in the role would include disambiguating different real world applications of ML operations at scale across use-cases like Labelling large data sets for industries like Autonomous Vehicles, translating content of different priorities across tiers of languages using a combination of machine translations and linguistic experts in the loop, among many others.

In this role you will:

• Build technology systems to solve the real world operations problems leveraging machines and HITL
• Partner with operations, customer engineers and researchers to drive data processing that feeds into machine learning
• Identify opportunities to reduce the cost of human operations by leveraging automations

Minimum qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field AND 6-years full-time Software Engineering work experience OR 8-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 6-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)
• Note the 6-years total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The years of specialized experience are not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.

Technical skills:

Required:

• Experience of solving problems leveraging AI/ML to drive automation and efficiency
• Experience developing engineering systems to leverage humans in the loop (HITL) to train machines at scale
• Iterated and improved the accuracy and performance of a machine first HITL engineering process
• Partnered across functions such as global business & operations, and different lines of businesses to build automation

Preferred:

• Experience in solving problems in Autonomous Vehicles Industry
• Experience of solving problems in AR/VR (Artificial and Virtual Reality) industry.
• Building systems that helps ML Operations scale

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $243,000 per year - $270,000 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $243,000 per year - $270,000 per year.
