The cash compensation range for this role is $282,800 - $420,000.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead a talented team of data scientists, overseeing data science initiatives across our suite of B2B go-to-market products.
  • Foster innovation and develop strategies to scale the impact of data science throughout our products and services. Partner with product leadership to guide next best models and solutions. Increase the impact of DS in all product roadmaps.
  • Build strong working partnerships with business and technology leaders to plan and execute data science applications in quarterly and annual product roadmaps. Establish and drive success criteria for data science applications.
  • Evangelize data science throughout the business by communicating a vision and the business applications of data science.
  • Recruit and develop talent as a player-coach - developing data science solutions with your team while mentoring, coaching, and empowering success.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to develop requirements and build data infrastructure necessary to facilitate efficient analytics development.

What we’re looking for:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or any other related quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in a data science position.
  • 5+ years of people management experience leading a data science team.
  • Proven track record of solving ambiguous and complex data problems at scale, strong quantitative modeling skills inclusive of machine learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to explain technical concepts to an executive audience, and translate business objectives to a technical audience.
  • Highly skilled in statistical and modeling packages; proficient with analytics and database tools.
  • Preference given to candidates currently living in the San Francisco area.

Areas in which you’ll be evaluated:

  • Business Acumen – Proven ability to apply data science capabilities to solve practical business problems. Experience with Marketing or Ad Tech data science is desirable.
  • Product Sense - Understanding of a product planning process, ablity to influence product strategies and roadmaps, strong collaboration skills.
  • Data Science Expertise – 10+ years of hands-on experience as a data scientist. Expert level knowledge in predictive analytics, machine learning, and data mining. Understands adjacent Big Data engineering technologies and environment.
  • Data & ML Architecture – Experienced integrating data science applications into software products. Understands ML Ops (deployment/scalable infrastructure). Fluent in challenges like data access, data infrastructure, and maintenance. Has worked with data at scale and velocity.
  • Mentor+Coach – A player-coach who can roll up sleeves, solve problems as a team, and facilitate the team’s success. Proven ability to attract, hire, develop, and retain exceptional talent.
