Job Description

We are looking for a Data Science Intern who will focus on managing some corporate projects in the Infrastructure Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) area. This role will be focused on understanding the Hitachi data analytics offerings (that is, Lumada Data Ops, HCI, and HCP) and preparing a testbed deploying the products in a containerized setup (Docker, Kubernetes).

Our Intern will dive right in and get to know our business and operations and will ultimately become contributing members of our team. This position requires strong communication, self-drive/motivation, and a dedication to excellence.

We are looking for Interns that are interested in Data Science Containerized Deployments and working with the federal government.

Work location: Reston, VA (Reston Town Center)

This role is onsite, candidate must be local for the duration of the internship. June 5th - Aug 9th.

About the Job: what it takes.

Daily:

• Learning - Study Lumada DataOps, Hitachi Content Intelligence (HCI) and Hitachi Content Platform (HCP)
• Install Docker and Kubernetes test environment.
• Containerized Deployment of Lumada DataOps - Test and script the deployment process outlined in the Lumada DataOps product documentation.
• Process Automation - Script any additional configuration as identified during the installation process.
• Containerized Deployment of HCI and/or HCP - If time permits, evaluate the installation and scripting of installing HCP and/or HCP in Kubernetes
• Documentation - Outline the deployment script to showcase the installation, configuration, and maintenance process for the Kubernetes testbed.

Potential Projects:

• Kubernetes Testbed: Understand the containerization capabilities of the Hitachi data analytics products starting with Lumada DataOps
• Testbed Expansion to HCI and/or HCP: Study the installation steps of additional Hitachi data analytics products Hitachi Content Intelligence (HCI) and/or object storage platform Hitachi Content Platform (HCP)
