Job Description

As a member of the BSH R&D Imaging team you will be working with a dynamic group of imaging and machine-learning scientists to develop image processing and machine learning algorithms for medical imaging applications including detecting and classifying cancers in 2D and 3D medical images.

In this project you will:

• Design & implement AI-driven image processing and image analysis techniques
• Develop machine learning and pattern recognition algorithms for medical imaging
• Develop algorithm prototypes to demonstrate the feasibility of the new concepts
• Carry out literature research, investigate and evaluate existing technologies
• Communicate ideas with other scientists and present experimental results

We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:

• Be enrolled in a phD program and have at least one semester left after internship
• An active Ph.D student with 2 years completed
• Majoring in: Computer Science, Medical Imaging, BioMedical Engineering
• Have a 3.2/4.0 GPA
• Extensive experience with at least one deep learning platforms (TensorFlow, PyTorch) is required
• Prior research experience in medical imaging will be beneficial
• Proficiency in programming (C/C++, python required; MATLAB, GPU/CUDA beneficial)
• Advanced degree with research experience in image analysis and machine learning in general
• Good documentation & communication skills should be beneficial
• Ability to work onsite in Santa Clara, CA (Hologic does not provide relocation assistance or intern housing)
