Job Description

The System Innovation team focuses on innovation projects with national and international partners from industry and academia. The team deals with the exciting challenge of support several quantum computing projects at the innovation center of Hamburg.

Tasks:

NXP Hamburg is hosting DLR’s Quantum Computing Innovation center. As a host and a partner NXP is involved in multiple projects to carry out R&D activities to build quantum computers over the next years.

NXP needs support of a student that is eager to build a strong background in Quantum Technologies and support the management team on several research activities.

You will be involved in several development steps:

• Literature review on Quantum technologies
• Research, analysis, and documentation of novel approaches in quantum computing domain
• Survey of emerging European Startups in Quantum Technologies

Requirements:

• Student of a Bachelor or Master course in Physics / Engineering / Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / Information Technology or similar
• Experience or interest in the area of Quantum Computing and passion to build a profound expertise by closely monitoring novel publications, reading scientific papers
• Basic knowledge of computer science or quantum computing will be advantageous
• Prior exposure to topics on Quantum Technologies via university courses or internships will be advantageous
• Understanding of concepts of technology roadmap will be advantageous
• Pro-active & innovative mindset, ability to work independently, passionate, team player
• Extension of contract or conversion into thesis/internship topics is possible
