Job Description

The Data Science team at Angi provides data-driven solutions and advanced modeling support for departments across Angi, including sales, marketing, customer care, product development, and finance. As a two-sided marketplace dealing with homeowners and service professionals, our team works with complex and data-rich challenges. We collaborate in a cross-functional manner to develop, deploy, monitor, and refine machine learning models that generate business value. What will you do?

• Be an active participant of the data science team and learn about the business areas where data science and machine learning are used
• Work with key stakeholders to provide new opportunities where data science can be leveraged
• Conducting exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover hidden patterns and relationships in data
• Train and Deploy machine learning models using amazon sagemaker
• Analyze the output of machine learning models to translate predictions into actionable insights for the business
• Learn the complex Angi ecosystem
• Develop your technical skills – particularly in Python, R, Amazon Sagemaker, and Snowflake

What qualities are we looking for?

• Studying for a degree in a technical field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, etc.
• Anticipated graduation date in December 2023 or May 2024
• SQL experience and a basic knowledge of relational databases
• Strong programming skills in Python, and familiarity with the libraries of pandas, numpy, scikit-learn. Nice-to-have knowledge of pytorch and tensorflow
• Knowledge of classic ML algorithms such as regression, SVM, random forests, boosted models, neural networks, etc.
• Previous experience with data science projects
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and relentless follow through

Compensation & Benefits

• The salary band for this position ranges from $25-$35/hour and will commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living.
• Internship runs from June 12 – August 18 (10 weeks)
