Internship Location:
This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.
Department Description:
- KP Insight supports the enterprise data and analytics strategy at Kaiser Permanente by delivering on the following strategic priorities:
- Increase speed to insight: Engage and enable more KP leaders and managers to access analytics to facilitate faster data-driven decision-making wherever and whenever they need it
- Enable enterprise strategy development and execution: Develop and drive adoption of enterprise-wide analytics to support strategic execution using prescriptive and predictive analytics with a specialty in the Finance, Quality and Utilization domains
- Support affordability: Help maximize KP's use of analytic resources to drive efficiency, and optimize consumption of high value resources
- Organize the KP analytics ecosystem: Help connect KP's distributed analytic resources to enable better sharing of best practices, tools, techniques, and insights
Intern Projects:
- Develop predictive models for predicting cost, utilization or social health and deploy them into on Azure platform.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.
- Report development and analytics.
- Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.
- Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.
- Job shadowing in other functional areas.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Education
- Pursuing a graduate degree or have completed a graduate program from an accredited university within the last year.
- Bachelors degree required.
License, Certification, Registration
Additional Requirements:
- Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
- 0 GPA or above
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
