Summary

The Collaborative Data Services Core Facility (CDSC) at the Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a talented and motivated candidate for the role of CDSC Data Analyst III. The CDSC serves as the gateway for the Moffitt research community to clinical data resources.

Position Highlights:

• Translates complex data-related business requirements from research customers into an executable data query.
• Database-centric responsibilities include: mining, aggregation, wrangling, and trend analysis for health research purposes.
• Complex joins from large databases are common for this role.
• Possesses advanced knowledge of database query standards, reproducible programming, and best practices for working with protected health information.
• Expected to lead selected projects and train Data Analyst II team members to deliver on complex requirements.
• Effective time managing skills and ability to identify barriers that may cause a change in deadlines or meeting requested proposal, particularly with respect to data science workflows.
• Ability to adapt to changing business process requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Office, markdown, html, or similar applications and software to present data.
• Able to utilize critical thinking skills.
• Understand rules and regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality of patient information.
• Experience with the RStudio software stack (Shiny, R Markdown, Connect)

Minimum experience required:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Health Sciences, Health Informatics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Computer Science or other related field.
• Minimum five (5) years directly related experience querying/tidying/summarizing research data in a hospital or healthcare environment.
• In lieu of Bachelor's degree an additional 4 years recent experience as a data analyst/abstractor for a total of nine (9) years of experience may be considered.

• Proficiency in data processing and basic visualization with SQL/R/Python, or similar.
• Ability to collate/review data for submission monitoring for outliers, error processing and validation.
• Data management of complex databases.
• Experience with data-related operations in a cloud environment (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Git-based version control experience.

Preferred:

• Seven (7) years directly related experience with a focus on oncology research and/or treatment.
• Experience using data query/reporting tools (R, Shiny, SQL, Python, SAS) or similar enterprise business intelligence applications (QlikView, Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience using electronic data capturing/workflow methodology software (REDCap) for designing clinical and translational research databases.
• Knowledge regarding cost-efficient design of cloud-based data workflows, particularly in AWS or Snowflake
• Basic web-design knowledge for markdown reports of data (HTML/CSS)
