Job Description

At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives. Our wearable device tracks key physiological metrics such as heart rate variability, resting heart rate, and sleep quality to provide personalized insights into users' fitness, health, recovery, and stress.

As an intern with WHOOP's App Infrastructure Team, you will have the opportunity to work on building the infrastructure and tools leveraged across WHOOP. Our mission is to reduce toil in the development and review process across all of Software, with an additional focus on application security and observability.

You will collaborate with the team to develop solutions using React and Vue to improve and expand the functionality of our developer tooling. This is a 10-week internship that offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on personal and professional growth.

Throughout this 10-week internship, you will work on real-world projects, learn from experienced professionals, and gain hands-on experience building and optimizing production-level software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the App Infrastructure Team to design, develop, and optimize applications and services that support WHOOP's development process.
• Design and develop UI/UX for tools that our developers use daily.
• Learn how our APIs and databases are managed.
• Participate in code reviews, write documentation, and provide input on best practices to maintain high-quality code standards and system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to contribute to the overall development of WHOOP.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with front end frameworks such as React or Vue, bonus if you have experience with Java-based frameworks and technologies.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Ability to creatively design or diagnose UI/UX flows and user behavior.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
