SUMMARY OF POSITION

The data analyst intern will work closely with the data team and various stakeholders throughout StoryLoom to help the business better analyze user retention and user journey. Technical roles will likely include SQL querying, data mining, A/B testing, data visualization, and communication with applicable subject matter experts.

Key opportunities for growth include:

• Accrue practical experience with ad hoc analysis, data mining, experimentation, data visualization, and stakeholder engagement
• Develop rapport with a diverse set of teams throughout SL, ranging from enterprise and business strategy to creator success and writing
• Make a meaningful impact on an application in early stages of a global launch, developing assets and insights for use by key decision makers

The duration of this internship will be 12 weeks.

Our headquarters are in Los Altos, CA but we can accommodate a remote work environment for a candidate from the following states: California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, and Washington.

Currently, all Pixelberry staff work remotely with the option to work in-office, if desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the centralized data team to support ongoing business initiatives

• Support business partners with ad hoc analyses delivered via SQL, Tableau and other technical mediums
• Partner with cross-functional teams (i.e. product, marketing, creative) to administer A/B tests and interpret results
• Build reusable Tableau dashboards and ad hoc reports to summarize findings
• Maintain awareness of business/practical context for all analytical projects
• Maintain awareness of technical/logistical context for all business requests
• Provide additional analytical support as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• “Experience” listed below may be fulfilled professionally or academically

• Working toward or already obtained a bachelor’s degree in data analytics, data science, statistics, economics, or related quantitative discipline
• 1-2 years experience applying basic analytics techniques, ideally working with database querying (i.e. SQL, Snowflake), report building (i.e. Tableau, Power BI), and advanced spreadsheet analysis (i.e. Excel, Google Sheets)
• 1+ year experience applying statistical methodologies or A/B testing; general or statistical programming experience (i.e. Python, R) a plus
• Experience or interest in communicating directly with non-technical stakeholders
• Passion for complex problem solving and storytelling through data
• Passion for gaming or writing a plus
• Positive attitude and desire to work in a team environment
• Willingness to adapt to changing business environment and evolving role

Compensation Description for Pay Transparency (hourly)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $22/hour.

Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position. Where an individual’s pay falls within the range is determined by factors including, but not limited to, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

In some cases, compensation may fall outside of this range depending on factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
