ThirdEye is looking for a Sr. Data Scientist with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience.

RESPONSIBLITIES

The responsibilities include analyzing large volumes of telemetry data to discover trends and patterns, building predictive models and machine-learning algorithms, and proposing solutions and strategies to business challenges.

The following are the specific job activities:

  • Select specific machine learning algorithms and provide a reasonable basis for selecting each type of algorithm given the modeling objective.
  • Specify the test plan, including plans for train/test, splitting and metrics that will be used for assessing the model.
  • Train and assess the model per the specified test plan.
  • Model development should include the following:
    • Anomaly detection to extract unlabeled event signatures from telemetry data.
    • Clustering exercise grouping like grid events to distinguish normal from abnormal behavior.
    • Labeling exercise to classify anomalous event signatures based on SCE provided truth table.
    • Classification model for anomalous events based on labeling exercise.
    • Investigate “human-in-the-loop” feedback input to the classification model for engineers to acknowledge true or false predictions.
    • Predict physical event location on distribution leveraging all data.
    • Implementation of Machine Learning pipeline
    • Summarize the quality of the results using selected metrics in the test plan.
    • Report on the modeling process, including parameter selection, numerical validation of results, computation system requirements, training time, challenges, and decision points.
    • Report on the evaluation results in terms of business objectives, including a final statement on whether the project meets the initial business objectives.

Requirements

In this role, the candidate should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math, and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.

The Data Scientist is expected to perform intense model development activities, including designing a test plan, training/testing the models, assessing the model results, and likely iterating to train multiple algorithms.

The Data Scientist should produce the models in Python code.
