Job Description

As a Data Scientist you will be working alongside Senior Data Scientists using data creatively to develop high-quality and high-impact solutions for our clients. These solutions will likely revolve around Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision (CV), although any type of data science technique may be required to successfully deliver a solution. The ideal candidate will be able to take charge of all aspects of a project with minimal supervision, from requirements analysis, data collection and labelling, data wrangling and preprocessing, model development and evaluation, model deployment and model monitoring.

About you

• Ideally, you are a proactive problem-solver, with a strong outlook on problems, hands-on experience with end-to-end Data Science, good coding skills, and able to thrive on a dynamic environment.
• At least one year of experience as a Data Scientist 
• Minimum Bachelor's degree on a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics) - since we embrace diversity we will be open-minded with respect to your background
• Programming skills in Python
• Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse issues, identify causes, recommend solutions quickly, and structure and prioritise an approach for maximum impact. We focus on delivering value to clients rather than micro-optimising models.
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, uncertainty and working on a dynamic environment, where priorities change frequently and objectives may not be well defined
• Autonomous and adaptable
• Lifelong learner mentality, a drive to master new technologies and techniques, and willingness to work outside your comfort zone
• Non-conformism, i.e., someone driven to find non-obvious solutions to tricky business problem

We are especially interested in hearing from you if you have; 

• Experience with relevant database technologies (SQL and noSQL)
• Understanding of how to take a model beyond research to production
• Experience with a cloud computing ecosystem: AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure.
• Relevant hands-on experience with Data Science, with a focus on Machine Learning and Statistical Analysis
• Strong knowledge in at least one of the two:
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Computer Vision (CV)
• Familiarity with other data science techniques e.g. NLP, Computer Vision, Recommender Systems, Data Streams etc...
• Familiarity with deep learning (e.g., CNN, Transformers) and corresponding Python libraries (e.g., Keras, Pytorch)
• Ability to write clean, well-tested and well-documented code
• Familiarity with best software engineering practices such as testing, version control, continuous integration/ delivery
