Job Description

The Data Science Intern will work to assist Indium Corporation’s Analytical Team with developing and implementing tools to support business analysis and data-driven decision-making. The intern will be tasked with assisting operations on a variety of projects, ranging from factory performance metrics to advanced analytical solutions using artificial intelligence and machine learning. We are looking for a highly-inquisitive and self-motivated individual who has a passion for data and wants to get hands-on experience working at a global organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):

• Help develop tools to assist in quantifying business problems, and the impact of potential solutions.
• Apply advanced analytical techniques to support proactive decision-making.
• Investigate data quality and continuity; recommend methods for improvement.
• Research the use of automation in recurring reporting and efficiency efforts.

REQUIREMENTS:

• All interns must be active college students who have completed their freshman year and are enrolled in courses for the Fall semester.
• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or another Quantitative-related field.
• Microsoft Office experience required; Power Pivot/Power Query desired.
• Understanding of machine learning techniques.
• Programming experience in Python or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Keen observation skills with excellent attention to detail.

Monday - Friday/ 8:00am-5:00pm/ New Hartford, NY
