JOB TITLE: Data Science Intern - Undergraduate

JOB SUMMARY

Under general or minimal supervision, interns will embed into existing engineering teams and function as a team member working on a feature set, or work in collaboration with engineers and technical leaders on unique projects. See below for job-specific skills descriptions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Collaborate with experienced development teams to work on projects that advance our products.
• Participates in the formation of projects goals, scope, and schedule.
• Conducts investigative analysis, testing, and develops solutions to routine and non-routine problems.
• Displays a positive, proactive approach to problem solving.
• Ability to apply general to complex engineering concepts to support department or company projects.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working as part of a team.
• Strong sense of task ownership, urgency, and drive.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer science, data science, engineering, physical science, or life science discipline. 

Experience

No prior professional experience required.

Skills

• Experience in SQL and Python languages (Pyspark a plus)
• Experience with Eclipse/Jupyter or similar IDEs.
• Experience with PowerBI or similar reporting tools.
• Experience with GitHub or GitLab.
• Experience and knowledge of data modeling techniques, predictive analytics, and machine learning.
• Familiarity in Azure Technologies: Data Storage, Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, SQL Server, Machine Learning, Serverless SQL Pools, ARM templates, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical office environment requirements include reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Target Pay Range: $52,000.00 to $52,000.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
