Job Description

Renuity is looking for a Director of Innovation and Data Science. The director of Data Science will provide leadership in analyzing customer usage patterns and making actionable recommendations using statistical models, data mining, machine learning algorithms, business understanding and common sense. They will also play a key role in the development of all new and existing data-related products at Renuity.

Essential Functions: 

• Drive key data projects including forecasting, customer intelligence deep dives, direct to consumer email/direct mail propensity modeling, and marketing mix analytics
• Own cross-platform codebases to mathematically score potential customers in-real time and automate downstream sales processes to maximize conversion rates
• Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
• Work as the lead strategist, identifying and integrating new datasets that can be leveraged and execute the development of data products
• Analyze existing business processes for improvement opportunities and lead redesign and implementation efforts in a cross-functional manner
• Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various domains (A/B testing)
• Help communicate data to end-users so that it is accessible and actionable

The director of Data Science will identify business needs that a solution will fulfill, articulates what success looks like, and rallies a team to turn that vision into a reality. Some of their key skills include:

• Extensive of experience building advanced analytics solutions industry using techniques from machine learning, data science, statistics, optimization, at scale
• Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies
• Previous software and web development experience (product experience is a plus too)
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Background in advanced math and statistics (combinatorics, linear algebra, probability etc.)
• A gift for distilling complex and arcane analytics into clear, accessible, actionable insight
• Management Consulting background is a plus

Qualifications: 

• BS or MS degree in computer science or a relevant technical field (MBA is a plus)
• 5+ years of hands-on data science experience focused on solving business problems
• 3+ years of Python experience (sklearn, Pandas, NumPy, etc.)
• 3+ years of SQL experience (prefer SQL Server)
• 3+ years of advanced report building experience (Tableau/PowerBI/Qlik)
• 2+ years of applied machine learning experience (focus on supervised)
• 2+ years of mathematical optimization experience (LP, CP, IP, MIP, etc.)
• 2+ years of experimental design and A/B testing experience
• 2+ years of cloud experience (prefer Azure ML and Synapse experience)
• 2+ years of scripting/automation experience (BPR background is a plus)
