Assignment

As an AI Programmer, your role will be central to the implementation of Artificial Intelligence features (perception, decision trees, navigation, combat) as well as other innovative systems in a new Gearbox franchise. Accompanied by a team of designers, animators and other exceptional artists, you will be directly involved in the implementation of the various AI functionalities.

Tasks

• Collaborate with design teams to prototype and implement AI functionality at a high level of quality
• Designing data-driven systems with special attention to usability for designers
• Optimize the performance of developed systems
• Create technical and design documentation
• Implement appropriate testing and debugging
• Contribute to the overall technical direction of the project by participating in design sessions and code reviews
• Guide less experienced programmers

Profiles and qualifications 

• Autonomous with a sense of initiative
• Excellent communication skills
• 5+ years of experience as an AI Programmer
• Proficiency in C++ programming
• Ability to work in a team and in close collaboration with designers and programmers
• Console and multiplayer development experience (replication)

Assets

• Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5
• Titles published as an AI programmer or similar role
• Third-person shooter game development experience
