To join the team, a successful candidate will be asked to perform necessary hardware and software evaluations to ensure above-average product performance, developing efficient and easily understandable control and display software, and will have the ability to understand industry product application concepts and implement proper software solutions to exceed our client’s expectations.

General Functions:

• Carry out assigned divisional duties under the close supervision of senior and management level employees
• Respond to internal and external communications in a timely manner
• Enter data into electronic databases and file electronic and paper records
• Generate reports
• Actively seek feedback from peers, senior, and management team members
• Escalate concerns and recommendations to senior or management team members
• Assist senior and management team members as needed
• Work during assigned office hours and attend required meetings
• Manage time appropriately to meet project and task completion timelines
• Expand capabilities through on-the-job training from senior or management level employees
• Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the firm’s Guiding Principles

Basic Qualifications:

• Software development skills, preferably in C#, Visual Basic, .Net, SQL, and Python
• Familiarity with SVN concepts and software
• Familiarity with SQL Server
• Familiarity with JavaScript, CSS, and UI frameworks (React and/or Angular) and other front-end development technologies
• A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design and systems architecture
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Software Engineer Divisional Functions:

• Aid the overall effort toward sales and client satisfaction by analyzing and correcting internal software and customer problems
• Assist and provide support on sales inquiries with technical data and customer presentations
• Create software development processes for the creation and validation of prototype logic and program code for implementation across various operating systems
• Research new technologies and trends for future designs that enhance the value of developed solutions to customers
• Work with other engineering disciplines to evaluation interface between hardware and software and analyze with operational and performance requirements of overall systems
• Modify and test prototype software using working models or theoretical models based on computer simulation
• Be available and committed to traveling within the US or abroad to provide on-site support
• Perform other duties and projects as directed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated ability in software engineering best practices and processes
• Working knowledge of rational database-centered applications
• Efficient in verbal software demonstrations
• Other relevant experience includes: ASP.NET, Graphic Design, Statistics. Working knowledge of MVC, CSS, JSON, HTML5
• Experience with Microsoft applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for live software demonstration purposes
• Knowledge of major protocols
• Familiarity with topology design, network hardware and device configuration
• A solid understanding of performance and efficiency issues
• Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
• A strong customer orientation
• Conduct evaluations of hardware and software required to ensure optimal performance and product lifetime

Educational Requirements:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a software centric engineering program OR other degree program plus 1-3 years applicable work experience
