Job Description

The homes comfort group is seeking a firmware engineer intern will assist the firmware engineering team with project development activities. In this role, you will be assigned to a scrum team and participate with the agile practices. You will be tasked with firmware design activities, as well as hands-on tasks (ex: product testing, programming devices, debugging, etc.). Our products include, but not limited to, both connected & non-connected thermostats, indoor air quality systems & line volt products.

You Must Have:

• 2+ years into a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree
• Ability to take direction and be a self-starter.
• Good communication skills in English both written and verbally.
• C/C++ programming knowledge.
• General understanding of embedded devices.
• Usage and understanding of compilers / IDEs for embedded software development.

We Value:

• Proficient computer skills; Office 365, and documentation systems.
• Class in C/C++ programming.
• Class in scripting language (i.e., python)
• Ability to read schematics and basic knowledge of electronics (especially digital)
• Measurement equipment usage skills (i.e., oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer)
• Aware of Agile Software Development Process
• Aware of software development processes a plus, as well as the tools associated to such processes (i.e., Subversion, BitBucket, Jira, Bamboo, etc.)
