THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT AT TIER

• You will join the Fleet Availability Analytics (FAA) team in the Company Analytics group, helping to develop & curate a best-in-class data infrastructure to allow hundreds of people at TIER to benefit from ML models deployed at scale
• Our team is striving to solve the billion-dollar problem in micro-mobility: finding the optimal match of supply (100k+ vehicles) with consumer demand to maximise the utilisation of our fleet and the experience for our users. We do this by developing data products, ML models, and actionable business insights for central and local teams to ensure that each vehicle is at the right place, in the right condition, at the right time
• Your key focus will be to design, build & maintain functional architectures to enable the team to analyse complex data science problems, build exceptional features, train impactful ML models and bring them smoothly to production
• You will help us in automating the training and deployment of models (orchestration), setting up logging, monitoring and alerts to ensure that ML models, code and data artifacts are stable in production
• You will provide support for the development and deployment of ML models, by e.g., setting up automated testing and monitoring steps, as well as providing infrastructure support for model training & serving and managing data pipelines to ensure that models can access the data they need
• You will build tooling and pipelining abstractions to allow Data Scientists to focus on experimentation while empowering self-service to deploy and serve their models consistently
• You will introduce software engineering best practices, share development knowledge and be a team player in the best sense of the word!

YOU’LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 2 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or equivalent
• You’re fluent in Python and SQL
• You have a track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining reliable, secure applications in a cloud environment. We work with AWS (EKS, S3, CodeArtifact and others)
• You are passionate about discovering the latest AI technologies and integrating them into your projects, whether that’s SageMaker, Valohai, Fiddler, or ClearML. You love to dig in and embrace them
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform and helm) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) is essential in this role
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Git, CircleCI), containers (e.g. Docker), large-scale data processing tools (e.g. Spark), ML frameworks (e.g. sklearn, Keras), message- or event-driven applications (e.g. using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Redis) and workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, prefect) is a plus
• Experience with machine learning, such as feature engineering, modelling and hyper-parameter tuning, is a nice to have
• You are structured at work, able to handle and prioritise your tasks well in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment
• You are a good communicator and are not afraid to brainstorm together with Data Scientists, understand their viewpoints and build the best solutions for maximum impact.
