Job Description

The Company

Metropolis develops advanced computer vision and machine learning technology that make mobile commerce remarkable. Our platform is already deployed in hundreds of mobility facilities and industries with billions of dollars in opportunity. We’re building the digital pipes through which the future of mobile commerce will move.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to develop technical solutions to cross functional imaging system problems. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will have the opportunity to design and build systems from the ground-up, while also supporting our ever-evolving and expanding deployed systems. You will support all aspects of Metropolis’ imaging platform, working across hardware, machine learning, and software teams to design and develop solutions, and get work prioritized across multiple teams and stakeholders.

You will thrive in a highly collaborative, creative, analytical and fast-paced environment. Working primarily with Metropolis’ imaging systems, your responsibilities will be inherently cross functional, including (but not limited to) edge systems, sensors and imaging systems, hardware development, machine learning, and cloud computing.

The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading large projects, and will have a well rounded technical background in software and hardware systems (including imaging systems). You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a Senior TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs with technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into management pieces, develop functional specifications, and then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Scope and deliver large cross-functional imaging system projects that span multiple teams.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to build, test and deploy solutions
  • Coordinate with external vendors on component sourcing, contract manufacturing, and testing as needed
  • Support troubleshooting of field deployed systems, aligning resources for investigation, resolution and post-mortem
  • Evaluate tradeoffs to optimize delivery, identify goals, and define roles and responsibilities.
  • Communicate ideas effectively, verbally and in writing, to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Remove bottlenecks to enable your teams to work independently. You drive your team to proactively identify gaps and opportunities, and ensure risks are identified and mitigated.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • MS or BS in a relevant engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional hardware and software programs
  • Experience leading and managing camera/sensor/imaging system development programs/projects.
  • Experience with cloud software services and have an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and the SDLC.
  • Experience with common program management (MS Project, Visio, etc.) and productivity (Confluence, Jira, etc.) tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Previous experience working inside innovative, high-growth environments
  • Preferred local to the Seattle area. Remote for the right candidate.

When you join Metropolis, you’ll join a team of world-class product leaders and engineers, building an ecosystem of technologies at the intersection of parking, mobility, and real estate. Our goal is to build an inclusive culture where everyone has a voice and the best idea wins. You will play a key role in building and maintaining this culture as our organization grows.
