The advanced ASML lithography systems are a key component in the manufacturing of almost all advanced memory and logic devices. The handling of data at ever increasing scales, including image/signal acquisitions, logs and human knowledge enables the next generation lithography and metrology systems pushing technology limits.

In ASML Research, we are scaling-up our Data Science team where we drive innovation in the areas of Image/Signal Processing, Deep Learning, Statistics, Knowledge Representation and Data mining working on state-of-the-art challenges.

Role and responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for driving the development of novel state-of-the-art Data Science approaches, in a multi-disciplinary team setting:

  • Drive the research and development of novel highly scalable data-driven systems.
  • Build/prototype models working together with physics/domain focused as well as software teams.
  • Collaborate with on-product applications groups and our academic partners actively working on a Data Science framework for ASML products
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in your field of expertise
  • Generate patents/publications protecting ASML products
  • You invest in an academic network, define and support academic research projects in this field.
  • You are curious by nature, and keep your knowledge up to date by means of reading literature and visiting conferences.

Education and experience

  • PhD / Post-Doctoral researcher in Mathematics, Physics, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning or Computer Science.
  • M.Sc. in (e.g.) Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics or Electrical Engineering
  • Recognized expertise in Data Science with a solid publication track record.
  • 4+ years of (Hands-on) experience with Machine Learning / Pattern Recognition / Signal Processing challenges using frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical andmathematical concepts in a clear and precise manner.
