Job Description
One of our awesome industry partner companies, Consumer Reports, is looking for a Data Science Intern for a full-time (40hours/week) 6-month (with possible extension) position.
This is a remote role. Pay commensurate with experience.
Project:
The intern will work on an exciting project relating Product Safety and Early Warning Systems, whose goal is to understand, evaluate and raise awareness of any safety related problems or flaws in products that consumers might be using, using data driven approaches. The intern will be supervised in this work by the Director of Product Safety and the team Machine Learning lead researcher.
Key responsibilities:
- Working with multiple data sources and creating and maintaining dashboards of salient correlations in the data.
- Evaluating results, interpreting and communicating the results and findings.
- Delivering insights objectively and helping to create a culture of data-driven decision-making, in a timely manner.
Required Experience / Qualifications
- Python, Pandas and Scikit learn - 2+ years
- Data vizualization with Python libraries or Tableau (Tableau preferred but not required)
- Machine Learning techniques including data pre-processing stack
- Demonstrable examples of detail oriented work
- Ability to clearly articulate technical ideas, concepts, solutions to non-technical audiences
- Excellent persuasive verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- Experience collaborating with senior technologists and leaders
