Job Description
As a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer, you provide technical support for Spark Platform related issues and resolve any challenges involving the Databricks unified analytics platform. You assist customers in their Databricks journey and provide them with the guidance and expertise that they need to accomplish value and achieve their strategic goals using our products. They will look to you for answers to everything from basic technical questions to complex architectural scenarios spanning across the entire Big Data ecosystem.
The impact you will have:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues related to Databricks platform
- Provide best practices guidance for custom-built solutions developed by Databricks customers
- Provide suggestions for improving performance in customer-specific environments
- Help with issues around third-party integrations with Databricks environment
- Demonstrate true and coordinate with engineering and escalation teams to achieve resolution of customer issues and requests
- Help create company documentation and knowledge articles
- Be a true proponent of customer advocacy
- Strengthen your AWS/Azure and Databricks platform expertise through learning and internal training programs
- Value collaboration and coach other team members
- Participate in weekend and weekday on-call rotation
What we look for:
- 3 years of Systems/Platform Engineering
- Server and Serverless AWS Services preferred (EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, ActiveMQ, RDS)
- Experience managing Linux systems (CentOS/RHEL, Amazon, Linux)
- Understanding of Git workflows and exposure to collaboration on software projects with other team members.
- Experience providing code reviews
- Scripting or programming background is required (Python, Bash)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools preferred (Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity)
- Exposure to Infrastructure and Application monitoring tools (Zenoss, Elastic Search, NewRelic, DataDog)
- Exposure to container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos)
- Understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, DHCP and DNS, NTP) and diagnostic tools (tcpdump/ethtool)
