Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to take on a key role in our team and company vision going forward. The BI Engineer will get an opportunity to work and build world-class data platforms utilizing advanced technologies. BI Engineer will also help build a foundation for BI platforms and set best practices.

You’ll be:

  • Working closely with COVU’s Data Engineering & Analytics team. Partner with product, marketing, Operations, and finance teams to understand the business requirements and translate them into BI and Analytics solutions.
  • Designing and developing Reports and Dashboards on real-time data.
  • Build governance and security access for BI platforms (Tableau, Quicksight, Power BI, etc)
  • Document specifications for BI solutions, platform architecture, and other artifacts
  • Manage release deployments and performance testing of the reports
  • Evaluate and optimize existing and future BI systems
  • Enable self-service reporting high-quality dashboards for the executive team
  • Support data architecture process and software/tool evaluations.
  • Optimizing existing data structures and building the framework to support self-service BI reporting.

This is what you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience developing, testing, and maintaining Business Intelligence and Analytics applications. 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and processing data from Snowflake or any similar Cloud data warehouse environment.
  • Excellent experience in large-scale data systems with relational databases and NoSQL technology on the public cloud (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Build data systems and experience in building CI/CD pipelines to automate data interface pipelines.
  • Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, relevant services integrate with the AWS environment. 
  • Be an advocate for best practices and continued learning.
  • Create documentation and data dictionaries to support data governance
  • Adhere to good code practices within an agile environment with a DevOps approach to development and implementation.
  • Familiar with application lifecycle management tools and source control
  • Solid knowledge of PII standards, processes, and security protocols
  • Knowledge of Insurance data models (P&C)
  • Salesforce and Mulesoft experience (a plus)
