Job Description

We are looking for passionate and talented interns to leverage Computer Vision & Image Processing technology to solve diverse manufacturing and other industries' problems. As a Gaussian Computer Vision & Image Processing Engineer, you will develop and optimize algorithms/software to find new ways of reducing costs and maximizing the performance of manufacturing systems. You will work closely with seasoned applied scientists, software engineers, and program managers to deliver your algorithms/softwares into real products. Your work will directly impact our customers in advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Design/implement product-level computer vision and image processing algorithms/pipelines in image denoising, image restoration, image enhancement, edge/corner detection, image metrology, anomaly detection/localization, pattern matching/recognition, etc.
  • Benchmark, profile, and analyze the performance of algorithm implementation to identify the bottleneck and find solutions to improve the overall speed and accuracy.
  • Optimize algorithm/pipeline performance through algorithm-level optimization, code-level optimization, parallel processing, SIMD implementation, CUDA implementation, etc.
  • Work with Applied Scientists to collaborate on leveraging algorithm/software components to build the final solution as well as Software Engineers to release codes and integrate them into the industrial AI software products.
  • Work with PMs to define use cases, collect data, and benchmark the results.
  • Contribute to Gauss Labs's Intellectual Property pools through patents and technical publications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled or has a BS or an MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields.
  • Work experience solving real-life problems using Computer Vision and Image Processing technology
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing and optimizing low-level Computer Vision and Image Processing algorithm/software
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java with an understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability for thought leadership and building productive relationships.
  • Communication and presentation skills to articulate well on different levels of abstraction from technical to executive.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Plus if you have experience in using the Deep Learning tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
  • Plus if you have knowledge and experience in object-oriented software design and understanding of OS, computer architecture, networks, and databases.
  • Plus if you have experience developing software applications and services with an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability.

- Interns will go to Silicon Valley according to performance evaluation of their work periods in Seoul.

- The work periods in Seoul (Full-time and part-time) are mandatory.

- Interns can work flexibly during the part-time period in Seoul.
