Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and talented Computer Vision & Image Processing Applied Scientist to leverage Computer Vision and Machine Learning for solving diverse problems in manufacturing and other industries. As a Gaussian Computer Vision & Image Processing Applied Scientist, you will run experiments and develop algorithms to find new ways of reducing costs and maximizing the performance of manufacturing systems. Besides theoretical analysis and innovation, you will work closely with seasoned scientists, engineers, and program managers to deliver your algorithms and models into real products. Your work will directly impact our customers in advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cutting-edge Computer Vision algorithms, such as Image Enhancement, Anomaly Detection and Pattern Recognition, for Machine Vision applications.
  • Collaborate with other Applied Scientists to develop experiments, algorithms and prototypes that advance the state-of-the-art in industrial AI.
  • Work with Software Engineers to develop industrial AI platform and applications that are released to customers in manufacturing and other industries.
  • Work with PMs to define use cases, collect data, and benchmark the results.
  • Contribute to Gauss Labs's Intellectual Property pools through patents and technical publications.

Key Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Industry or graduate research experience solving complex problems and building models using Computer Vision or Machine Learning.
  • Industry experience applying Computer Vision or Machine Learning to solve customer's problems and release software products.
  • Contributions to research communities, including publishing papers in CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, TPAMI, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, etc.
  • Expertise in programming in Python, C++, etc. and using the Deep Learning tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability for thought leadership and building productive relationships.
  • Communication and presentation skills to articulate well on different levels of abstraction from technical to executive.
