Job Description

Gauss Labs is looking for a passionate and talented AI Engineer for developing cutting-edge Industrial AI solutions that will normalize the standard of AI for manufacturing. We are working with the world's best manufacturing customers while accessing the vast amount of real data from their manufacturing processes. We apply state-of-the-art AI technologies to the data and develop unprecedented AI solutions to transform manufacturing to the next level.

You will leverage your technical expertise in computer science and machine learning tools in a fast-paced research and development environment to create reliable and scalable high-performance products. You will develop AI SW by working with seasoned Applied Scientists, Software Engineers, and Program Managers located in Seoul, South Korea, and Palo Alto, California, USA.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data pipeline, image metrology, or post-processing modules comprising the end-to-end analytics workflow.
  • Develop tools for early data assessment, model training, and analysis in access to large datasets.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using real-time message handling, file systems, or database.
  • Optimize model inferencing and end-to-end analytics pipeline to best exploit modern parallel architecture such as multicore SMP, GPU, and distributed clusters.
  • Work with Applied Scientists to collaborate on leveraging algorithm components to build the final solution as well as Software Engineers to release codes and integrate them into the industrial AI software products.

Key Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning or related technical field
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java with an understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Proficiency in using Machine Learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow; experience in utilizing Computer Vision or Machine Learning packages.
  • Expertise in object-oriented software design and understanding of OS, computer architecture, networks, and databases.
  • Experience developing software applications and services with an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning or related technical field
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices including source control management, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/deployment.
  • Plus if you have experience developing production-level AI systems for computer vision, time-series data analysis, or data mining.
  • Plus if you have experience in distributed/parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, and systems software development.
  • Plus if you have development experience in a cloud service environment such as Amazon AWS, MS Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
