In this role, you will play an integral role in the daily activities of the Mass Spectrometry (MS) Innovation Hub at Altos Labs (Bay Area Institute). As a Lipidomics Scientist you will be an integral part of advancing the methods development, research, and projects central to the overall lipidomics effort at Altos Labs. To this end, you will develop and implement methods to identify and quantify lipids for cells, tissues, and other biological fluids. This includes sample preparation (solid phase extraction, liquid-liquid extraction), and measurement using appropriate scan modes on a wide array of instrumentation (orbitrap, QQQ, TOF), for which you will receive training to operate where necessary. You will maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, as well as perform data analysis using various software programs (commercial and in-house developed platforms). In addition, you will document all sample preparation, method development notes, author scientific reports/publications and protocols/SOPs, present results/findings, and collaborate with research associates/assistants, data scientists, and other junior and senior technical staff throughout Altos Labs.
