Department Overview

We are hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst to be a part of the Cybersecurity Business Operations group. The Motorola Solutions Cybersecurity Business Operations group provides business intelligence, contracts administration, sales operations, and program management services to Motorola Solutions’ Cybersecurity organization.

Job Description

This position analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to key decision-makers across multiple departments within MSI including executives, finance, sales, product delivery & operations, etc. The position aligns with the business to understand, recommend and deliver accurate and insightful dashboards and reports. This position

• Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. 
• Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. 
• Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. 
• May provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues. 
• May directly produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools.
• Experience with Tableau or equivalency to create impactful reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel, including use of pivot tables, formulas, macros, vba, charts/graphs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfort presenting to everyone from entry-level employees to senior vice presidents
• Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse concepts and processes
• Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences
• Sensitivity to clients' needs and able to develop warm client relationships
• Curiosity and passion about data, visualization and solving problems
• Creativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative data
• Experience with reporting, descriptive statistics, probability, and cleaning big datasets
• Willingness to question the validity, accuracy of data and assumptions
• Enjoyment from collaborating with others in team environment

Basic Requirements

• 2+ years of Industry experience in report development, data science, business analytics, business intelligence or comparable data engineering role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology
• B.S. degree in math, statistics, computer science, or equivalent technical field
