Data Science is at the core of all of our products, with a dynamic roadmap and even more ambitious vision. To expand our capabilities and develop new features end-to-end, we are looking for experienced Data Scientists to join the Machine Learning Analytics team. ML Analytics is a dedicated team of Data Scientists, Data Analysts and ML Engineers responsible for the development of our ML model validation tooling and metrics that enable FLYR to decide where we should invest more time and attention in our algorithms.

What will your destination look like at FLYR? (Responsibilities)

  • Own mission-critical projects to launch new models, model evaluation tools and capabilities that have an instant meaningful impact for FLYR’s products with major airline brands. 
  • Explore, wrangle, and analyze large airline datasets to inform domain understanding, problem framing, and perform feature engineering using SQL, Beam, Python, and Colab notebooks. 
  • Use Agile methodologies and scalable practices for model prototyping, enhancement, evaluation, and productization using standard Python, Tensorflow, and other ML libraries—pushing production code to the FLYR codebase.
  • Ensure successful project execution and be responsible for highly technical tasks. 
  • Collaborate closely with other talented colleagues, such as delivery-focused Data Science teams and Data & ML Platform Engineering teams, to build well-integrated products and to share learning and best practices in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deliver insights from analysis that provide quantitative support to product feature decision making.
  • Work with managers and domain experts to translate business objectives and requirements into functioning code related to feature engineering and model training/inference.
  • Act as a member of FLYR’s global data science organization, providing technical guidance and advice to other team members and fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

What should you pack for this trip? (Qualifications)

  • +2 years of experience as a data scientist working on innovative commercial product offerings using Machine Learning
  • Experienced with Python and TensorFlow or similar deep-learning frameworks. 
  • Skilled in wrangling all types of data in SQL.
  • Understanding of time-series data and forecasting.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in applicable quantitative disciplines (computer science, engineering, economics, statistics, math, or similar).
