Job Description

SoundCloud is looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our BI team under the core analytics team. The team serves as the center of excellence for our foundational company KPI reporting, dashboarding, and as an enabler for self-service analytics for the entire company.

As a BI Analyst you will help power the insights that drive data-driven decisions through business reporting and self-service analytics. Working alongside a team of SoundCloud Executives, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Analytics Engineers, you will be the gatekeeper for everything related to company metrics. Your role will revolve around becoming an expert at our core metrics and strategic drivers of our business. This is an ideal role for you if you are deeply curious, have a strong analytical mindset, and are eager to apply your skills in creative and technical ways.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain SoundCloud’s core KPIs to ensure timeliness and accuracy
• Drive the initiative to implement a self-service analytics model in order to enable faster and informed decision-making for our end users
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements and generate data-driven insights through data visualization and reporting
• Own the design and implementation of data models and dashboards used to present key information to executives, senior leadership team, and stakeholders across the business
• Build queries and reports to analyze historical data, including the use of techniques such as subqueries and complex joins
• Provide comprehensive and concise written, visual, and verbal reports regarding analysis and findings that tell a story instead of capturing synthesized data

Experience and Background:

• You have 2+ years of experience in data visualization and data analysis
• You are an expert in business intelligence and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau or Power BI. Looker and LookML experience preferred
• You have a basic SQL knowledge and the ability to collaborate with data analysts and analytics engineer to translate business requirements into a technical solution
• Plus if you have experience working with data orchestration tool, such as Airflow
• You have a clear, concise communication skill, both written and oral. You specifically have an aptitude for distilling and capturing key elements and reporting on them for technical and business stakeholders
• You have experience working cross-functionally and seeking solutions as a team
• You seek impact and outcome, drive innovation, and apply agile best practices
