About the Team

The Inbox Commerce Science team at Haifa is heading research in the field of Commerce and responsible for a number of strategic efforts including the extraction of commercial email items, such as receipts, shipments, invoices, deals, etc., as well the categorization and the recommendation of products and deals. This, with the mission to enable new shopping experiences across the consumer ecosystem, in products such as Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Shopping Hub and Yahoo Search. In terms of revenue, Inbox Commerce is a steeply accelerating initiative (2X QoQ), currently expected to surpass $70M/Y. In addition, extracted email data is contributing $100M annually in ad revenue.

The team has vast knowledge and expertise in turning huge amounts of user data into knowledge and applications using state-of-the-art techniques in machine learning and data science. It provides intellectual leadership and scientific acumenship to the discussion of future products and services, and often facilitates Yahoo’s academic collaboration by publishing its results in worldwide conferences.

Required Skills

• M.Sc./Ph.D in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related area with focus on data science, distributed systems, machine learning, or algorithms
• Solid design and implementation skills in Java, C++ or Python
• Interest and background in one of the following areas: Search, NLP, Deep Learning
• Good communication and presentation skills
