Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Sydney team. You will to build capability in, accelerate adoption of, instill confidence and mature the Data and Analytics platform across the Group. To achieve this, the team will aim to create a community of super users, embed Data and Analytics into the Mirvac culture, build confidence in Analytics capabilities, and create a recognition platform for individuals and teams with the end goal of leveraging a fully functioning and effective Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence.

Please note this is a 12 Month Fixed Term Full Time Contract

Your responsibilities are but are not limited to:

• Lead technical business analysis in end-to-end delivery of new data sources and functionality in Data and Analytics platform
• Implement best practices in analytics platform design and development to build Power BI data flows/reports/dashboards
• Work closely with key stakeholders and SMEs in confirming scope and translating requirements for the technical team
• Undertake and lead analytics projects to implement continuous improvement of core Reporting and Analytics platform
• Leverage ‘Power Platform’ to enable self-service analytics capability within the organization
• Lead the optimization of data models used by analyst team and stakeholders
• Develop robust documentation to capture business requirements, implemented solution, and areas for improvement
• Train key users and SMEs to confidently use Data and Analytics in driving efficiencies and benefits across the company
• Communicate any issues or challenges to agreed schedules and deliverables to Analytics Manager and discuss possible solutions/options
• Stay up to date on latest functionalities across the Data and Analytics platform and Power BI in particular
• Assist in developing PoC for predictive analytics initiatives
• Develop analysts within the Data and Analytics team across source systems, business processes and building reports and analytics

Your point of difference

• Degree in Quantitative field (E.g., Engineering, IT, Finance, Statistics etc.)
• Expertise in: Power BI including advanced DAX, SQL, End to end agile delivery
• Knowledge of Rest APIs, Data warehousing principles and design methodologies, Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate), Alteryx, Machine learning/models/predictive analytics (knowledge of)
• 5-7 years of Data and Analytics experience
• Experience in leading 2-3-person team
• Strong communication and stakeholder management 
• Ability to understand the business’ Analytics requirements and confidence to challenge these where necessary
• Strong technical skills to translate business requirements into technical requirements and test deliverables
• Extraordinary ability to deal well with ambiguity and the ability to reduce ambiguity for others
