We are seeking for a highly motivated and experienced data scientist with a real passion for technology and a great digital savviness to join our team. You will be based in Beijing and joining the Advanced Analytics Center of Expertise China Chapter.

Your main responsibilities:

• Drive, manage, and deliver data-driven projects from scoping to production in close collaborations with other data science experts and project members across regions and teams
• Use state-of-the-art advanced analytics and data science techniques, platforms, and tools to solve exciting and complex insurance business challenges
• Act as a technical lead in specific domain (e.g., NLP, geospatial analytics, actuarial science) by steering technical and innovative topics, developing best practices guidance, and promoting/sharing relevant knowledge, skills, and services internally and externally 

About the Team(s)

The Advanced Analytics Center of Expertise (AACoE) is the centralized data science function of Swiss Re. We develop advanced data and technology solutions to help the business units and clients solving real-world insurance challenges, as well as drive group analytics strategies. We are a global team of highly skilled professionals in a variety of advanced analytics domains including machine learning, data & text mining, geospatial analytics, etc. The AACoE team provides services in the areas of

• Analytics Consulting: In collaboration with business teams identifying significant business opportunities and defining the business cases.
• Analytics Delivery (Modelling & Prototyping): Defining the most appropriate technical solution approach and validating the scenarios through prototypes or pilot solutions.
• Analytics Solution Enabling: Implementing, improving and maintaining analytics solutions to tackle business issues.

About You

• Advanced degree (i.e., Ph.D. or Master's degree) in data science, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or other relevant fields
• 5 or more years of hands-on experience in advanced analytics ideally with a background in insurance-relevant/automotive/NatCat industry
• Expert-level know-how in one or more data science domains, e.g., machine learning, NLP, geospatial analytics, time series analysis, optimization, simulation, etc
• Adaptive to technical advancements and state-of-the-art in one or more data science domains
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL
• Experience with cloud-based data science platform
• Experience with data engineering and DevOps/MLOps is a plus
• Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin, especially in the situations of explaining technical ideas/methods to non-technical audiences
• Willing to collaborate with other project members and work in an agile manner
